Uniworld Launches First Official Blog on Tumblr and Continues to Grow their Online Presence

The company has just announced the launch of their first blog on Tumblr this week with the purpose of sharing stories, expert advice, recipes, and articles about river cruising through their blog posts. Connect and engage with customers: existing past guests, new prospects, and industry leaders/travel professionals. “The goal of Tumblr is to provide insider stories about Uniworld,” states Maria Grimardi, Uniworld’s Vice President of Marketing. “Our upcoming blog posts will feature first-hand experiences from Uniworld past guests and recipes from Uniworld’s Culinary Director, Global Master Chef, Bernhard Zorn.”

Not only will river cruise enthusiasts and travel aficionados be able to follow Uniworld’s blog for exclusive information about traveling, they will also be able to follow Uniworld on their newly launched Instagram account available on iPhone and Android mobile devices. Uniworld’s new Instagram account provides an opportunity for their followers to view live photos taken directly from Uniworld’s ships and company events, in real time. Whether people are anticipating their upcoming cruise or curious about river cruising, Uniworld’s Instagram account is a destination to view exclusive photos that makes its followers feel as if they have stepped onto one of Uniworld’s boutique river cruise ships and are experiencing a river cruise themselves. Instagram is not the only cyber destination people can visit to access original Uniworld photos. Uniworld has been actively pinning all things related to their river cruises to their company Pinterest site. They have created boards called “Destination: Asia” and “Welcome Onboard” that highlight photos taken directly from the Uniworld boutique cruise ship, as well as, repining travel photos from their followers.

The Uniworld family on Twitter also seems to be rapidly growing with the newest addition being, Uniworld’s President & CEO Guy Young, who joined the Twitter community this past May 2012. Young has been keeping his Twitter account quite active, with daily tweets about things that interest him and messages for the public. Not only can guests now follow the president of this award-winning cruise line, but they can also follow their favorite cruise and hotel managers, who are now also on Twitter and tweeting photos of their daily life onboard the Uniworld ships.

In the beginning of June, Uniworld also introduced a new charity campaign on their Facebook Fan Page called “$1 for a Like”. For every “Like” Uniworld receives on their Facebook Fan Page, the company will donate one dollar to The Travel Corporation Conservation Foundation, a non-profit organization founded and supported by the companies that make up The Travel Corporation and whose main initiative is focused on identify and supporting projects that encourage sustainable tourism. To date, the company has nearly reached $1,000 with all funds going towards the efforts of protecting and restoring our environment.
