DAY 1: Depart home gateway city to Cairo  Departing Flight  
DAY 2: Cairo  Motorcoach

DAY 3: Cairo  Motorcoach   Museum Visit  
  Featured Excursion: Citadel of Salah al-Din, Muhammad Ali Mosque, and Egyptian Museum
  Your tour of this historic city begins with the Citadel of Salah al-Din for breathtaking views of Cairo. Salah al-Din built the Citadel in the 12th century to defend Cairo from the armies of the Crusaders and to become the center of his government. Muhammad Ali Pasha restored the walls of the Citadel and built numerous palaces, schools, and government buildings in the 19th century. His masterpiece was the great mosque, which you’ll see next. In the afternoon, visit the Egyptian Museum, an unrivaled warehouse of Pharaonic treasures. The museum exhibits over 120,000 objects, including the remarkable artifacts recovered by archeologist Howard Carter from the tomb of King Tutankhamun. (BB)

DAY 4: Fly to Luxor, cruising the Nile, Dendera  Departing Flight   Embark/Disembark   Motorcoach  
  Featured Excursion: Temple of Karnak
  Fly to Luxor in the morning, where you’ll encounter the Temple of Karnak and its avenues of sphinxes
and halls of gigantic columns. Later in the day, you’ll board your luxury cruise ship, River Tosca, and set sail for Dendera. (BB, L, D)
DAY 5: Dendera, cruising the Nile, Luxor  Motorcoach  
  Featured Excursion: Dendera Temple Complex and Temple of Luxor
  In the morning, you’ll encounter the Temple of Hathor in Dendera, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, which contains a rare depiction of Cleopatra and her son Caesarion. The cruise returns to Luxor, where you’ll enjoy leisure time before an early evening exploration of the ancient Temple of Luxor. (BB, L, D)
DAY 6: Luxor, cruising the Nile, Kom Ombo  Motorcoach  
  Featured Excursion: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Colossi of Memnon, and Egyptian dinner and Galabeya party onboard
  Board your motorcoach and travel to the West Bank of the Nile to see the two gigantic statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. Next, visit the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Valley of the Kings, where many illustrious Pharaohs were buried. Then you’ll return back to the ship, and while sailing to Kom Ombo, enjoy a fun-filled Egyptian dinner and Galabeya party, including typical Egyptian music and activities.(BB, L, D)
DAY 7: Kom Ombo, cruising the Nile, Aswan 
  Featured Excursion: Kom Ombo Temple, Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, Philae Temple, and Nubian show onboard
  In the morning, visit Kom Ombo Temple. After exploring this fascinating site, continue your Nile cruise to Aswan, where you will discover the Aswan High Dam and Granite Quarries and see the enormous Unfinished Obelisk and the Philae Temple. During the evening, enjoy a Nubian show. (BB, L, D)
DAY 8: Aswan  Dining Out   Music Concert  
  Featured Excursion: Traditional Nile felucca cruise, High Tea at the Movenpick Hotel, Sound and Light show at Philae Temple, and Nubian show onboard
  Irresistible Optional Tour: Join us on our exciting optional excursion to the amazing Temples of Abu Simbel.
  During the afternoon, sail in a traditional Nile felucca around Aswan’s Botanical Gardens. Then enjoy High Tea at the Aswan Movenpick Hotel. During the evening, marvel at a Sound and Light show at Philae Temple. On board the ship, be treated to another Nubian show with a live band playing Nubian music. (BB, L, D)
DAY 9: Cruising the Nile, Edfu 
  Featured Excursion: Spend the morning at leisure in Aswan before sailing to Edfu. During the evening, don your Galabeya for a second party on board. (BB, L, D)
DAY 10: Edfu, cruising the Nile, Luxor  Motorcoach  
  Featured Excursion: Temple of Horus
  In the morning, visit the well-preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the Falcon god. Then enjoy the scenery as we cruise back to Luxor. (BB, L, D)
DAY 11: Luxor, fly to Cairo  Departing Flight   Embark/Disembark   Motorcoach  
  Featured Excursion: Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids of Giza
  Disembark in Luxor and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Cairo. Check into the Cairo Marriott. In the evening, attend the magical Sound and Light Show that illuminates the ancient history of the Pyramids of Giza. (BB)
DAY 12: Cairo  Motorcoach  
  Featured Excursion: Guided tour of Giza, the Sphinx, and the legendary Pyramids
  Drive out to Memphis to admire the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. Nearby at Sakkara, view the Step Pyramid of Zoser I; dating from the 27th century BC, it is the oldest in the world. You’ll then enjoy a guided tour of Giza, where you will see the enigmatic Sphinx and the magnificent Pyramids. (BB)
DAY 13: Depart Cairo  Motorcoach   Return Flight  
  Featured Excursion: Check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight home. (BB)Note: An upgrade will be available from the Hotel Four Seasons Nile Plaza in Cairo for $550 per person, based on double occupancy; $1,000 for a single. Upgrade not available on April 17, 2009 and April 24, 2009 sailings.
