This is our first cruise. We are in a category 2 cabin on the River Queen and are wondering how much storage space there is in the closet....how many hangers are available? Are there drawers for storage, like in a dresser or chest? Is there storage space in the bathroom. Looking forward to hearing from someone soon! Thanks in advance.

Yippee ! We found another cruiser. We are Carol and Allen Bredt from Northridge, CA - in the San Fernando Valley, North of L.A. Our slightly-disguised email address is abredt-at-socal-dot-rr.com. We have been on 2 Uniworld cruises, so if this is your first, maybe we can answer some questions. We leave for Amsterdam Sep. 5 and will spend 3 nights there on our own. cb

Hello Carol and Allen....

We will arrive Amsterdam on Sat, Sep 7. We pick up our Uniworld documents at AAA tomorrow, so we will know exactly where we are staying for the pre-cruise part of our trip. I'll let you know when we have the details.

Since you have been on two river cruises already, tell me about the attire. The photos look a little upscale, but people tell me that it is very casual and that the formal nights are not necessarily real formal. My husband is planning to take a nice shirt and tie, but he really doesn't want to take a jacket. We have been told that whatever we wear during the day will be fine for dinner, except for the welcome and farewell dinners. What is your experience?

We live in Nampa, ID, which is about 18 miles west of Boise. Actually, Don grew up in Newport Beach, CA, and I grew up in Fontana, CA, so we are familiar with your area. Don was born in New York and I in St. Louis, but we both moved to CA at a young age.

Just a little info about us......
We are so excited about taking this cruise. I was in Europe in 1982, but Don has never been there. We love history and are really looking forward to seeing the WWII cemetery. Both of our fathers served in the war. We are both retired....Don is 64 and I am 65. We love going to Maui every couple years. We were there this past April. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary all year long!

Our email address is southards2@hotmail.com.

Look forward to meeting you! Thanks for responding to my post.

Hi here, we were on the River Queen in June of this year. There was no storage in the bathroom but there was a dresser with drawers in the stateroom. The closet was not floor to ceiling so you may have to hang pants in half. There were about 2 dozen hangers and if that's not enough you can request more.
