A friend and I are going on the Danube Cruise in late October. We want to extend our trip to spend several days in Prague. I talked to a Uniworld rep today about the extention offered, and this will not work for us for a couple of reasons. Does anyone have any recommendations for quality, reliable transfer services from Passau to Prague? From what I understand about rail in this area, I would like to avoid the train if possible. If anyone is also thinking about doing this and would like to discuss sharing a transport, please let me know.Report Abuse Reply to this post

Could you please let me know who you are using for your transportation from Passau to Prague? I was told to check out CK Shuttle, however I do not see a connection on their website. What was the charge for 2 persons? I know we can take a train from Munich to Prague, but that seems like a lot of effort. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Report Abuse Reply to this post

We are using this transport company to get from the ship in Passau to Prague. They pick you up right at the ship. They also divert (if you want them to) for a very reasonable "hourly holding fee" to two picturesque towns on th way if you are interested. It helps to break up the 3-1/2 drive.Report Abuse Reply to this post
Here's their website. I hope Uniworld lets this post come through as we are here to help each other, right?
This was very inexpensive for six (DW and I are traveling with two other couples), but it may not be so for only two...

We have done this cruise and really enjoyed it. We started in Prague for 4 days and then went to Vienna by train. Traveling by train was a breeze and we're in our 60s. While in Prague we used PragueWalkers for 2 days of tours and for the transports. They are extremely knowledgable and very prompt when picking us up. I think they noticed that we were a little hesitant about using the trains (we had a problem in Florence on a previous trip to Italy) and only read/speak English, as the driver took us into the train station, showed us how to read the schedule on the wall and then showed us exactly where to go to board our train. I would highly recommend PragueWalkers. By the way, we LOVED Prague!!!Report Abuse Reply to this post
