Hubby and I will be cruising on the River Countess on 1st July from Amsterdam to Vienna.
We are from Australia and first time river cruisers, looking forward to this trip immensely.
Is there anybody else joining us on this cruise?

I am also taking this cruise. It's my first river cruise as well and I will be traveling solo. I'm coming from Boston and am arriving in Amsterdam a few days early to enjoy the city! I'm looking forward to seeing the photos of the remodeled ship as well.

This is my 1st river cruise as well. Really looking forward to the trip. Just downloaded the Cruise Companion and my head is swimming with all the choices re: optional excursions as well as multiple featured excursion choices. I think my biggest dilemma will be deciding which to take in Passau--Featured city tour or Optional Salzburg tour or Optional Cesky Krumlov/Czech lunch in Budweis.

It will be the Salzberg optional tour for me. I can't pass up the chance to see the surrounding sights from the "Sound of Music"!

I'll be on the following cruise on the River Duchess. Traveled in Russia on the River Victoria last year. My only advice would be to keep an open mind about the optional tours. They do a very good job of describing them when onboard so you can easily make a decision at that time. No worry about getting "closed out" on these tours like on a mass-market cruise ship.

Also looking forward to seeing photos of the renovated River Duchess. Posting them quickly would certainly be helpful for those planning future cruises.
