Hello,
I am concerned about Germany's largest airline striking on Monday, April 22nd. I will be traveling the first week in May to your Highlights of E. Europe cruise and have flights booked with them. Geez, between Mt. Etna erupting and unions striking, it will be a challenge getting there. Anyone with thoughts on this?

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

In the event of an impending airline strike, our operationsdepartments continually monitor airport and airline activity. Generally,we are made aware of any potential concern prior to the start date of a strikeand have available various options and information to provide our guests and/ortheir travel agents. As Lufthansa’s April 22 strike was only to last oneday, and a Monday as well, we saw no cause for concern and no guests wereaffected.

The possibility of a natural disaster or an airline strike issomething that, although are not common occurrences, unfortunately can happenat any moment. Due to such possibilities, travel insurance is highlysuggested for our guests, and for any person traveling away from home.

Should you have any other questions or would like additional information, please feel free to email customerservice@uniworld.com

Best,
Katie (community manager)
