Food Safety - China

I had a conversation with a nurse at Global Travel Health, which provides vaccinations for world travel. One concern raised was the safety of the food in China, specifically anything poultry. I've been reading about the bird flu virus and was wondering if anyone had any information about the food available on the Uniworld cruise.Report Abuse Reply to this post
(My wife says "Don't worry, I'm sure Uniworld has no intention of poisoning it's customer base."!)

I'll take the chance on replying to this topic (late as it is). I cannot speak to the Uniworld experience in China, but having spent an extended amount of time travelling from Beijing to Shanghai, I encountered no problems whatsoever with the food -- occasionally very unusual and often delicious.Report Abuse Reply to this post
The water, however, is quite a different story: doubtless you will be provided with bottled water to drink, as the water (and the air) in many Chinese cities is quite polluted.
Have a wonderful time!
