Parisian Winter Holiday 2013,

1/22/2014
Uniworld’s Paris Winter Holiday was a wonderful cruise. There were so many great sights to see, and the excursions were fantastic. The cruise manager did a fabulous job juggling any challenge that came his way. Seeing the wonderful palaces and museums in December rather than in summer is a great way to avoid the crowds. The hotel and restaurant staff are the best in the business. The food is just amazing, from some of the best soups we’ve ever had to a fantastic dinner menu each evening. The hotel manager was extremely generous with her ... Read More...

Spectacular Seine,

This summer, my husband and I took our first European River Cruise aboard the River Baroness. We traveled with two of our dear friends and 85 other passengers on Uniworld's Paris and Normandy cruise. From the moment we stepped through customs at CDG, we were pampered by Uniworld's wonderful staff. Our trip began with 2 nights in Paris at the Marriott Ambassador. Our guide, Pierre, provided guidance and information about Paris and available tours. He was very helpful throughout our stay. We opted to take the bus tour which gave us an orientation to the city. ... Read More...

"Magnifique",

We recently returned from our maiden voyage on a river boat cruise in August 2013. This trip will bring us a lifetime of wonderful memories. The river boat cruise is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Seine River. The staff on the River Baroness were so welcoming. The cruise manager, Alexandra, was very competent and ensured that the needs of the guests were met. The dining room experience was delicious--the service was hospitable and every meal was a treat. The cabin was small but very clean. We were very fortunate ... Read More...

best ever experience,

Our Grand France trip on Uniworld in August was 5-star. Both the River Baroness and River Royale exceeded our expectations.
The trip began in Paris, which was the least of our favorite due to the large number of tourists, pick-pocketers and an environment lacking authentic French culture. Paris today doesn’t compare to how we remembered it from our first visit 10 years ago.
The Baroness welcomed us with a lovely lunch, after which we were led to our 1st class cabin draped in fine fabric and offering a luxury bed, refurbished bathrooms, luxury bath robes and toiletries.
Our tour director ... Read More...

Bastille Week Paris & Normandy,

7/28/2011
We have returned from an exquisite Paris-Normandy experience. Uniworld provided Route Marine transfer from CDG: Our driver, Fabrice from was a delight and full of information. We were fortunate to have him drive us for all transfers on the trip; we were his only passengers in a new luxury vehicle. From the moment we boarded the River Baroness, greeted personally by Hotel Director, Sebastian, we were charmed by his effortless efficiency, patience, and supervision.

Our suite, #215, was spacious and suitably, Napoleonic (1800-10) French decorated. The daily food plates, daily laundry service, complimentary Burgundy wine, in ...
We made wonderful new friends from New York City, Texas, Florida, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. A Rotary meeting was held, which my husband attended. Barbara, from Rouen via Roma, was our excursion guide for three guide adventures. She is zesty and zingy. Jean-Loius, a dancer, was our guide for Giverny. They were both the best we have known in our years of travels. All excursions satisfy intellectual curiosity as well as providing choices for robust activity, if one is inclined for maximizing adventures. We were docked in Rouen for Bastille Day and River Baroness gave us special treats and champagne, for our Sun/Stars Deck viewing of the Bastille Day Fireworks and Music show.

Special mention for the hotel cleaning and laundry staff. Standards are exceptional. Clean laundry was returned each day, after dinner.

Meals are beyond dreams: Martina directs a cordon bleu crew. Peter Struhar, executive chef, is visible in the dining room and a wonderful personality--ready to accommodate every request. His kitchen's ice creams are note-worthy! The al fresco experience, in the covered Sun Deck room, was unparalleled. We were at Captain's Table for Captain's Farewell Dinner. Captain Jacky Leclerc commands with a velvet personality. Best for last: Emmanuelle, Cruise Director, is a delight. She is the shining essence of everything we love about Uniworld.

Beautiful Trip -- Paris & Normandy,

1/2/2011
My experience on the Baroness in October was 4-Star. And especially stellar was the cuisine -- the creative genius of Chef Sousa and his staff.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! And keep up the good work --

(PS -- I plan to visit the Duoro region end of August, 2011 -- how about transferring Chef Sousa to that new vessel?)

SERVICE BEYOND EXPECTATIONS,

5/6/2010
I recently returned from a wonderful cruise with Uniworld. The staff was extremely skilled and attentive. We learned mid-cruise that many of our return flights to the US had been canceled due to the Iclandic volcano and the cruise manager along with the ship's crew went beyond the "call of duty" to arrange hotels, ground transportation and even help with airline re-bookings. They opened all internet and phone lines to us free of charge and even offered staterooms to anyone who wanted to repeat the trip at a very reasonable rate. I will definitely cruise with ... Beyond our expectations,

When one thinks of a “Boutique” hotel, what comes to mind is small, intimate, well appointed, service oriented hotel.  All that and more was our experience on Uniworld.  It was certainly beyond our expectations and the personal touches were like the old golden days of cruising.  From beginning to end, the warmth and efficiency of the staff permeated the ship.  No wonder they call themselves the Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection. I would not hesitate to put my most discerning clients on their ships.
Thank you for the fine adventure,
Stevie & Joe Friedman
