Spectacular Seine,

9/14/2013
This summer, my husband and I took our first European River Cruise aboard the River Baroness. We traveled with two of our dear friends and 85 other passengers on Uniworld's Paris and Normandy cruise. From the moment we stepped through customs at CDG, we were pampered by Uniworld's wonderful staff. Our trip began with 2 nights in Paris at the Marriott Ambassador. Our guide, Pierre, provided guidance and information about Paris and available tours. He was very helpful throughout our stay. We opted to take the bus tour which gave us an orientation to the city. ... Read More...

"Magnifique",

9/10/2013
We recently returned from our maiden voyage on a river boat cruise in August 2013. This trip will bring us a lifetime of wonderful memories. The river boat cruise is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Seine River. The staff on the River Baroness were so welcoming. The cruise manager, Alexandra, was very competent and ensured that the needs of the guests were met. The dining room experience was delicious--the service was hospitable and every meal was a treat. The cabin was small but very clean. We were very fortunate ... Read More...

Bastille Week Paris & Normandy,

7/28/2011
We have returned from an exquisite Paris-Normandy experience. Uniworld provided Route Marine transfer from CDG: Our driver, Fabrice from was a delight and full of information. We were fortunate to have him drive us for all transfers on the trip; we were his only passengers in a new luxury vehicle. From the moment we boarded the River Baroness, greeted personally by Hotel Director, Sebastian, we were charmed by his effortless efficiency, patience, and supervision.

Our suite, #215, was spacious and suitably, Napoleonic (1800-10) French decorated. The daily food plates, daily laundry service, complimentary Burgundy wine, in ...
We made wonderful new friends from New York City, Texas, Florida, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. A Rotary meeting was held, which my husband attended. Barbara, from Rouen via Roma, was our excursion guide for three guide adventures. She is zesty and zingy. Jean-Loius, a dancer, was our guide for Giverny. They were both the best we have known in our years of travels. All excursions satisfy intellectual curiosity as well as providing choices for robust activity, if one is inclined for maximizing adventures. We were docked in Rouen for Bastille Day and River Baroness gave us special treats and champagne, for our Sun/Stars Deck viewing of the Bastille Day Fireworks and Music show.

Special mention for the hotel cleaning and laundry staff. Standards are exceptional. Clean laundry was returned each day, after dinner.

Meals are beyond dreams: Martina directs a cordon bleu crew. Peter Struhar, executive chef, is visible in the dining room and a wonderful personality--ready to accommodate every request. His kitchen's ice creams are note-worthy! The al fresco experience, in the covered Sun Deck room, was unparalleled. We were at Captain's Table for Captain's Farewell Dinner. Captain Jacky Leclerc commands with a velvet personality. Best for last: Emmanuelle, Cruise Director, is a delight. She is the shining essence of everything we love about Uniworld.

Beautiful Trip -- Paris & Normandy,

1/2/2011
My experience on the Baroness in October was 4-Star. And especially stellar was the cuisine -- the creative genius of Chef Sousa and his staff.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! And keep up the good work --

(PS -- I plan to visit the Duoro region end of August, 2011 -- how about transferring Chef Sousa to that new vessel?)

Beyond our expectations,

4/1/2010
When one thinks of a “Boutique” hotel, what comes to mind is small, intimate, well appointed, service oriented hotel.  All that and more was our experience on Uniworld.  It was certainly beyond our expectations and the personal touches were like the old golden days of cruising.  From beginning to end, the warmth and efficiency of the staff permeated the ship.  No wonder they call themselves the Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection. I would not hesitate to put my most discerning clients on their ships.
Thank you for the fine adventure,
Stevie & Joe Friedman

Paris & Normandy,

10/15/2009
Amazing trip. My mother-in-law and I had never been to the Normandy region of France. We fell in love with it. The battlefields at Normandy as well as the museum were overwhelming. Honfleur, Monet's Garden, and Versailles were breathtaking. And of course, Paris! The food and Uniworld staff were beyond our expectations. We have booked another cruise for 2010. This time we will be traveling on the Rhine.

Our Paris to Normandy cruise which began Sept5-13, 2009,

9/22/2009
Now that we are home and have had time to think back over our cruise, it was one of the most well-run, information packed cruise we have taken. Our first river cruise and hopefully NOT our last. Forget the big ocean liners, we really like the intimacy of the small groups. All the staff could not be more helpful. My husband has not traveled for the past two years due to back, hip and knee problems. The size of the boat, River Baroness, worked for him and he picked and chose his excursions ... Read More...

Would like to recognize excellent service,

7/27/2008
I am a Scottsdale, AZ travel agent and have worked in the travel industry for 25 yrs. Recently my husband and I, along with 10 friends, returned from the Paris to Normandy cruise aboard the River Baroness and would like to recognize excellent service.

We began our trip with two nights in Paris and from the minute we collected our baggage and were transferred to the hotel, everything went smoothly.  Dominique greeted us at the hotel and made us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay.

She waved and said goodbye to each of us as we boarded the ... Read More...

Extremely pleased,

7/7/2008
We were extremely pleased. The ship had a warm, friendly atmosphere. The land tours were well organized & led, & not as strenuous as some other tours we've taken. The room was fine, especially since all the passengers were on more or less the same schedule, so we were sleeping or awake in unison.

The staff & the food were outstanding. Price isn't cheap, but neither is anything comparable. It was nice to pay in advance, so exchange rates for the dollar, or inflation were not a worry. All we had to pay on the spot were the tips, & they ... Read More...
